Our Ukraine Adoption

We have created a journal for all of our friends and family to follow us on our adoption in Ukraine. We ask for your prayers as we go on an adventure of a lifetime and hopefully come home with a sister for Jordan and Chase and a daughter for us.

We received our invitation!

Well, for months I've been running to the mailbox looking for a letter from Ukraine. We found out a couple of weeks ago that we have an appointment at the NAC for July 11th. Today our letter of invitation came. This makes it official. It is very strange receiving mail with Greek style letters. Every couple of lines were translated to broken English.
I took the boys to the doctor today to get a check-up before we leave the country. They were perfect. They were both in the 95% for their height. Chase was in the 65% for his weight. (We knew he was tall and skinny.) Jordan was in the 95% height and weight.
I also spent a little while shopping. I just bought little goodies for the boys to have each day while we are gone. Lee and I are writing little notes for them to have. We're putting little jokes in them. Hopefully, every day they will have something to open from us.
Yesterday the boys had dentist appointments. Their dentist donated 25 or so toothbrushes and toothpaste for us to take to donate to the orphanage. Today, I was shopping in a small store called "The Baby Room". They are very nice Christian people. One of the workers went to Ukraine on a mission trip a few months ago. When he heard that we were going there to adopt, he went through the store collecting onsies, baby gowns, and baby blankets for us to take to the orphanage. I have also had one friend give a monetary gift to help the orphanage. People are so kind!
Have a great day!
Shannan
